01 / The casting process

From a precise pattern to metal.

Every casting begins with a production-ready model and a carefully prepared wax pattern. Controlled investment, burnout, melting and vacuum-pressure casting preserve detail and create a consistent foundation for finishing.

The result is metal that is ready for the next step—stone setting, polishing and finishing—without fighting porosity or lost detail.

How we cast.

Step by step

  1. 01

    Production-ready model

Every casting begins with an approved CAD model built for metal.

  2. 02

    Wax pattern

A carefully prepared, high-detail wax pattern is printed and mounted on the tree.

  3. 03

    Investment

The tree is invested so every detail of the pattern is captured.

  4. 04

    Burnout

Controlled burnout removes the wax and leaves a clean mold.

  5. 05

    Melting & casting

Metal is melted and cast under vacuum and pressure for dense, detailed results.

  6. 06

    Clean-up

Castings are cleaned and passed on to setting and finishing.

After casting

One facility from wax to finish.

Castings don’t have to travel to another supplier. At Phoenix they move straight to assembly, stone setting, finishing and quality control.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What type of jewelry casting does Phoenix offer?

Phoenix uses advanced vacuum and pressure casting with controlled investment and burnout, which supports fine detail, smooth surfaces and repeatable results.

Can Phoenix cast a single prototype?

Yes. Phoenix casts single prototypes to validate a design, small runs to test a collection and high-volume programs for ongoing production.

Do I need to provide a wax or a CAD file for casting?

Every casting starts from a production-ready model and wax pattern. If you do not have one, the Phoenix CAD team can create the model and print the wax for you.

What happens after casting?

Because Phoenix is a full-service manufacturer, castings can continue in the same facility to assembly, stone setting, polishing, finishing and quality control.
